A-Reece Supports K-Rev Amid Criticism After ‘Are We There Yet?’ ReleaseThe prominent South African hip-hop artist addressed the ongoing discussions through an Instagram Story, refuting claims about K-Rev’s promotional strategy and the perceived link between the EP’s reception and his relationship with the younger artist.
“K-Rev dropped a fire EP yesterday,” A-Reece expressed. “Already, the predictable, disparaging narratives like ‘his nonchalant attitude towards this release won’t get him anywhere, and it’s Reece’s fault’ are desperately being spread by lowly individuals.”

Additionally, A-Reece cited K-Rev’s consistent output in music, emphasizing the artist’s dedication to his craft and personal evolution without overly depending on media attention.
A-Reece expressed frustration over the notion that K-Rev’s advancements should be evaluated in connection with his own achievements. He indicated that some critiques appear to stem from his affiliation with K-Rev instead of an objective review of his music.
“Y’all are just saying these things because of my association with the kid,” he remarked. “And it’s sad watching my name overshadow the heart he puts into his work. He deserves to be heard for himself.”
K-Rev, born Samukelo Qhena, is steadily building his music catalog under the Revenge Club Records label. The rapper hails from Daveyton and has previously collaborated with DJ Clen, including a track on the 2025 mixtape The Only Way UP, contributing to the local hip-hop scene.
His most recent project, Are We There Yet?, was released on September 28, showcasing more of his evolving sound.
A-Reece’s remarks shifted the focus back to K-Rev’s artistry and personal development. He conveyed the importance of evaluating the young artist’s work based on its own worth rather than his own influence on the narrative.
