KLY Marks Spotify Milestone as Monthly Listeners Increase“Thank you to everyone who’s been streaming. We just reached 72000 monthly listeners. Much love ❤️,” he wrote alongside a heartfelt reel marking the occasion.
Born Siyabonga Mkhize in KwaZulu-Natal and raised in Midrand, KLY, which stands for Keep Love Young, has carved out a niche as a prominent figure in South African R&B. Renowned for his smooth vocal delivery and poignant storytelling woven with trap-soul and African elements, he resonates with audiences beyond his home country.
His career has included collaborations with well-known artists, such as Emtee, DJ Maphorisa, the late Riky Rick, Patoranking, Wizkid, and Mafikizolo. These partnerships have broadened his appeal and solidified his standing in the music scene.
The recent achievement marks a significant rise from the 50,000 monthly listeners milestone he acknowledged earlier in 2026. His expanding discography, featuring introspective isiZulu track “Ngiyakhumbula,” the latest release “Drosty,” and the well-received “Snapdatsh!t” remix, continues to attract a growing audience. Currently, his Spotify profile indicates over 72,300 monthly listeners.
Interestingly, KLY first ventured into the creative arts through dance, having performed at the 2010 FIFA World Cup and being part of the internationally known krump crew 300cru. This foundation has since led him to a musical career marked by projects like Keep Love Young and KLYMAX, along with his ongoing musical endeavors.
While streaming numbers reflect one aspect of an artist’s journey, KLY’s recent success highlights the meaningful connection he continues to forge with his listeners. He directed his appreciation to the fans who have supported him rather than focusing solely on the numbers.
With his monthly listener count on the rise, KLY has additional cause for celebration as he progresses in his music career while embodying the ethos of keeping love young.
