
The Western Cape Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport, Ricardo Mackenzie, says preparations are being finalised to hold the group of soccer players stranded in Portugal once more dwelling by Thursday.
The group left city earlier this month to take part in a soccer occasion in Spain.
They’ve since been left stranded after the BT Soccer Academy allegedly didn’t pay for return flights and lodging.
The group of higher than 20 players is presently staying in a resort in Lisbon.
Mackenzie says the provincial authorities decided to step in because of the kids’s well-being comes first.
“I merely bought right here once more from a run with the boys. I observed the kids, they’re all in good spirits and glad to get dwelling. Thanks, Tracy Lange, Avukile, and the entire stakeholders which had been working terribly arduous in elevating funds to get these youngsters dwelling safely. All preparations have been made, all flights have been booked, and in three completely totally different groups, all these youngsters should arrive in South Africa, Cape Metropolis, by Thursday.
