Manchester United seems to be gearing up for a fierce competition in the transfer market as they aim to bring in a reliable goal scorer this summer.
The club has kicked off the transfer window with remarkable momentum, acquiring established Premier League stars Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, alongside Diego Leon.
Despite these signings, the pressing concern of securing a striker persists, as the squad noticeably lacks attacking strength.
To date, United has found themselves linked with various possible candidates during this transfer period.
Options for United
Connections to Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig have intensified recently, with reports indicating that United is competing with Newcastle United for the Slovenian’s signature.
Nicolas Jackson presents another option, as Chelsea is said to have proposed the player to United for £80 million.
An intriguing possibility also emerges with Paris Saint-Germain’s striker Goncalo Ramos; United seems to have expressed more genuine interest in the Portuguese attacker than the other candidates.
Approaching Ramos
Earlier this year, it was revealed that United held discussions with the PSG forward, indicating he may be open to leaving Paris.
If this development is significant, new information suggests that United’s manager Ruben Amorim could be on the verge of acquiring a proven goal scorer for the team.
The transfer battle heats up
This morning, CaughtOffside announced that United has entered a heated contest to sign Ramos.
“Sources close to the agents industry have informed CaughtOffside that Ramos’ lack of consistent playing time has alerted several Premier League and Serie A sides who see a golden opportunity to pounce on a proven goal scorer,” the report indicated, suggesting that life in Paris might not be entirely satisfactory for Ramos.
“English clubs Newcastle United, Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Liverpool are all assessing the possibility of a summer move.”
Specifically, Liverpool is thought to be evaluating Ramos as a potential long-term acquisition. Meanwhile, Man United is continuing to explore forward options and views Ramos as a possible fallback if other striker targets face delays,” the article elaborated.
“United’s number one target is Benjamin Sesko, and Ramos is regarded as an alternative option,” the report concluded, signaling that any approach for Ramos would rely on the club’s success in capturing Sesko.
Whether it is Sesko or Ramos that United opts to recruit, the club is clearly eager to secure a proven striker this summer, as they are in urgent need of strengthening this crucial role.
