It’s not solely governmental and non-profit entities that engage in community contributions; artists have also embraced the mission of supporting their localities. Artists significantly contribute to community development, whether through collaborative efforts or charitable donations.
Recently, DJ and Producer Jazzworx announced via social media his intention to give back to the community as a sign of appreciation for the support he’s garnered throughout his career.
In a message posted online, Jazzworx outlined his commitment to support his community through complimentary performances at schools and community events. Along with Thukuthela (real name Kamohelo Monese), their goal goes beyond entertainment; they aim to motivate youth, promote togetherness through music, and narrate their journey to the public.
“We are excited to announce that we would love to come directly to your schools and communities to perform live, and this is free! This is not just about entertainment; it is about inspiring young minds, fostering unity through music, and sharing our journey with you.”
While Jazzworx emphasized he isn’t looking for financial aid, he did extend an invitation to businesses and governmental bodies to support this initiative.
He encouraged fans to suggest a tour name, preferring not to use their own. Fans were asked to propose various names that resonate with them or reflect their province.
“Let’s come up with the tour name, we don’t wanna use ours, so we will let you give it a name. We can give it different names, which are mostly inspired by you or as per your province! Last week of August, we rock & roll!”
Their initial performance will be at schools in Gauteng, followed by the province that receives the most requests. They aim to visit all nine provinces.
Jazzworx and Thukuthela have collaborated on numerous hit tracks, including Vuka, Isaka (6 am), and Bengicela, which all topped major South African music charts. They’ve also worked alongside renowned artists like MaWhoo, Oscar Mbo, GL_Ceejay, and Dlala Thukzin.
