Mac G and Robot Boii make a splash on ‘Shaka iLembe’
Podcaster Mac G and performer Robot Boi recently surprised audiences with their unanticipated appearances on a popular TV program, with both celebrities taking to social media to document their experiences on set.
Robot Boi shared a compelling Zulu monologue during his part and posted images from the filming, captioning them: “‘QWAAAAAABE’. Liyabonga iLobot Madoda.”
Mac G discussed his experience on Podcast and Chill, disclosing that this featured cameo represented his inaugural acting stint. He acknowledged that the filming process was much more demanding than he had expected, as he and the other cast members faced lengthy hours under intense sun, all while clad in g-strings.
“We filmed the entire day. The sun was relentless. We were outdoors the whole time,” he shared.
“The vibe was distinctive. It’s a different environment, and you feel transported back to those times. By the end, I felt Zulu. When I arrived, I had a fade. It took an hour for them to apply [fake] hair. It was a tough day of shooting.”
In spite of the difficulties, Mac G expressed that this opportunity fostered a greater appreciation for professional actors, commending the commitment needed to bring narratives to fruition.
