Sizwe Dhlomo sparks debate with tweet wishing comfort for all South Africans
Media figure Sizwe Dhlomo initiated a spirited discussion across South Africa following a recent social media post.
During the weekend, Dhlomo shared his thoughts on X (formerly Twitter), stating: “I really wish everyone in our country was comfortable.”
This tweet has garnered more than 120,000 views, resonating with numerous South Africans who offered their insights on the topic.
One individual replied, “We deserve more than survival. 🇿🇦❤️” while Nota Baloyi commented, “That’s all & it’s possible…”
An additional commenter remarked, “Life can be harsh, and that’s part of its nature. If everyone lived in comfort, life wouldn’t hold the same significance. Not everyone is meant to experience comfort.”
A concerned user highlighted, “And unfortunately Dhlomo, we are very far from that. Over 50% live below the poverty line. It’s so sad to think we are the biggest economy in Africa, but only a few live comfortably.”
On the other hand, one commenter was critical, suggesting to the broadcaster, “Share your wealth with few people then!!!”
I really wish everyone in our country was comfortable. 🙏🏽
