William Saliba will be unavailable for the France national football team’s upcoming matches due to an ankle injury.
Saliba recently completed the full match in Arsenal FC’s 2–0 loss to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final. However, Softfootball has reported that he has a left ankle injury, leading to his withdrawal from France’s fixtures against Brazil and Colombia.
This news was shared by Fabrizio Romano on his official X account, noting that Maxence Lacroix has been called up to take Saliba’s place, marking his first senior selection for the Crystal Palace defender.

William Saliba suffers ankle problem and will miss upcoming France games. Maxence Lacroix will replace Saliba, first call for Palace defender as @FabriceHawkins reports.
Arsenal’s situation is further complicated by an injury setback for Eberechi Eze, who will also be absent for England’s matches against Japan and Uruguay due to a calf issue. Manager Mikel Arteta has indicated that further scans will assess the extent of the injury.
This dual injury issue poses a significant challenge for Arsenal as they aim for trophies this season. Currently, they lead the Premier League by nine points over Manchester City.
