
Bukayo Saka celebrated his return to the national squad with a goal in the second period after Declan Rice had opened the scoring with his first goal of the current season.

In midfield, Arteta included Rice, Martin Odegaard, and Eberechi Eze, although Odegaard had to leave the pitch due to injury. This marked the third consecutive Premier League home match where he was substituted in the first half.
Martin Zubimendi operated in the number six role with Rice moving forward to link up with Eze and Saka.
West Ham defended resolutely as Arsenal controlled the game, creating numerous chances until Rice netted the opener. This goal marked the first of the season for the England player.
The home side secured the win in the second half when Jurrien Timber was fouled by El Hadji Malick Diouf, allowing Saka to convert a penalty to extend the scoreline to 2-0.
