Renowned South African hip-hop star Siyabonga Nene, affectionately known as Big Zulu, is on the road to recovery after being involved in a car accident on Sunday. The incident, confirmed by his record label, Inkabi Records, has sparked an outpouring of prayers and well-wishes from fans and supporters.
Inkabi Records shared the news on social media, stating: “Nkabi Nation, it’s sad to announce that Big Zulu was involved in a car accident last night. Please keep him in your prayers.”
The Home Sweet Home hitmaker was driving his maroon BMW 325 when the accident occurred. Images released by the label show the car significantly damaged, yet Big Zulu survived the ordeal, much to the relief of his fans and the music community.
This accident follows a similar incident involving fellow Inkabi Records artist Xolani Shabalala, known as Xolwa, just two weeks prior. Xolwa was driving his BMW 4-Series when he also met with an accident but fortunately walked away unharmed.
Social media platforms, particularly X (formerly Twitter), have been flooded with messages of support for Big Zulu. Fans have expressed their relief and sent heartfelt wishes for his speedy recovery, rallying behind one of South Africa’s most beloved artists.
The Nkabi Nation continues to stand strong for Big Zulu as he recovers from this life-threatening experience.
