Bonang Matheba reveals bold plan to take House of BNG to the skies
Bonang Matheba has consistently embraced bold business ventures, with her most recent goal being nothing less than revolutionary.
The media icon and entrepreneur has shared her intention to see her luxury drink brand, House of BNG, on airlines and expand its reach beyond the borders of South Africa this year.
“I want to get into airlines,” she stated during an exclusive interview.
“As a woman entering any sector, challenges will inevitably arise. Early in the journey of BNG, I faced a legal conflict with several individuals… that was one of the hurdles of business.”
Since its inception in 2019, Matheba has worked through the complexities of a male-dominated industry, notably becoming the first black woman to join the esteemed Cap Classique Producers Association.
Nonetheless, she continues to break new ground, placing her sparkling wine brand in premier lifestyle venues such as hotels, restaurants, and significant events like Miss South Africa and President Cyril Ramaphosa’s inauguration.
Matheba also revealed an upcoming product that is set for release in October 2025—a canned BNG Mimosa designed for convenient celebrations.
“We aim to have a variant for every occasion. Mimosas for brunch, Brut for lunch, and Nectars for dinner,” she elaborated.
For Matheba, House of BNG represents more than a luxury beverage; it embodies her dedication to fostering opportunities and spaces for youth.
“I aspire to create an environment where I’m supporting young people. Where I’m building networks for them through my foundation,” she concluded.
