Chymamusique has discussed the financial impact of his medical recovery following a severe car accident that resulted in the death of a friend.
The noted producer and DJ disclosed that his monthly medical costs amount to R15,000 after undergoing several surgeries.
On Instagram on November 11, 2025, Chymamusique informed his followers of his recent discharge from the hospital following critical brain surgery.
He stated that he has had to cancel all upcoming performances indefinitely to prioritize his recovery.
“Cancelling all work. What a summer. What’s the best way to pass time? I don’t want to be idle, because an idle mind is the devil’s playground,” he noted in an Instagram story.
The artist known for Don’t Wait Till I’m Gone mentioned that he is currently selling branded t-shirts and hoodies as a way to generate income during this recovery period.
“This is what I currently do for a living: selling t-shirts and hoodies. All my businesses are paused until I recover,” he elaborated.
Chymamusique outlined that his monthly expenses include fees for prescriptions, copayments, and medical consultations, totaling approximately R15,000.
He clarified that while his situation is manageable, many fans have encouraged him to create a fundraising campaign.
“Situation isn’t that bad, but medical scripts and medical copayments will want +/-15k per month, including check-ups and medical aid, etc. By popular demand, I was asked to open a BackaBuddy account,” he explained.
He later shared on X (formerly Twitter) that a BackaBuddy fundraiser has been initiated, aiming for R200,000 to alleviate his financial burden, revealing he has already had six surgeries with two more expected.
“By popular demand, I was asked to open this BackABuddy campaign to reduce a bit of load when it comes to medical bills, do it voluntarily,” he stated.
Since his announcement, fans and fellow musicians have supported the campaign by sharing the link and offering encouraging words as he continues his journey towards recovery.
