Asakhe Rigala, a determined individual from the Eastern Cape, has emerged victorious in the Fund a Chiller competition organized by the Podcast and Chill network. With hopes of addressing his problematic wisdom teeth and exploring the realm of baked goods, Asakhe opened up about his experiences and future aspirations in an interview.
“Firstly I’d like to thank the Podcast and Chill network and the Chillers for helping me make
this dream a reality,” Asakhe said, expressing his appreciation. “Honestly, I’m very happy that I got
picked as a winner. I’m also in great relief because these teeth have been bothering me for
months.”
Asakhe revealed that he initially had doubts about his chances of winning. “I didn’t think you guys
would pick me at first. I just wrote the letter with the hopes that faith would move
mountains and it did.”
Winning the competition promises to have a lasting impact on Asakhe’s ambitions. He views this achievement as a crucial step towards his entrepreneurial goals. “It
definitely will have a huge impact, it’s a huge Jumpstart, a huge leap,” he stated. “I think
this will play a huge role in lifting the weight off my parent’s shoulders and starting this
business hopefully will start breaking generational curses.”
Asakhe described the moment he learned of his win as extraordinary. “I had already lost hope… But
when I got the call, I was in utter disbelief. I don’t even have the words to express the
feeling, man,” he recalled.
With the support gained from this opportunity, Asakhe aims to transform his community through his baked goods initiative. “I don’t believe you have to be 35 to be someone’s role model,” he
stated. “I just want to be a point of reference to the kids.”
His advice to others encountering similar obstacles or pursuing entrepreneurial aspirations focuses on faith and resilience. “Faith is very important,” he stressed. “And they should know
that life is possible even if education doesn’t really work out for you. Just be creative.”
Amidst a landscape of challenges, Asakhe’s narrative highlights the significant effects of determination, community backing, and strong belief. As he sets out on his entrepreneurial path, one thing is clear – Asakhe Rigala is ready to make a lasting impact, both in his community and in the hearts of those who find inspiration in his story.
