Cyan Boujee’s Instagram numbers reportedly drop
Cyan Boujee has found herself at the heart of a fresh controversy, as social media users closely monitor her Instagram presence.
The DJ and influencer, who recently experienced a setback after the loss of her 1.8 million TikTok account, is now reportedly facing a loss of hundreds of thousands of Instagram followers following her promotion of the contentious Russia Alabuga program.
Even after she issued an apology, detractors have continued to criticize her, demanding she be held accountable for endorsing the work-study program currently under scrutiny.
At the time this was reported, Cyan’s Instagram displayed approximately 898,000 followers, with many claiming that her previous count exceeded a million.
An X user, @Nkabiikazii, highlighted the drop by posting a screenshot and commenting: “From a million followers to this? She messed up👍🏿”
Public reactions regarding the apparent drop have been varied. Some individuals asserted that Cyan never truly had a million followers, while others shared proof that her follower counts were indeed dwindling.
A handful of supporters also defended her position.
“Instead of tackling the core issues, they are attacking another victim. As South Africans, we will take time to find peace,” tweeted @MigthyLiverbird.
On the other hand, @Shiax25 expressed strong dissent, stating: “It is now essential for us as citizens to ensure every celebrity who thinks they are untouchable faces the repercussions of their irresponsible actions. Let us cease to uplift individuals who mislead our youth… I say, ‘Let there be carnage!’”
