P Diddy begs judge before sentencing
Sean “Diddy” Combs, a prominent figure in the American hip-hop scene, is seeking leniency as he faces potential imprisonment of up to 20 years during his upcoming sentencing.
The founder of Bad Boy Records, despite being acquitted on two of the more significant charges, submitted a three-and-a-half-page letter addressed to Judge Arun Subramanian ahead of the court proceedings scheduled for Friday, 3 October 2025.
In his emotional message, Diddy acknowledged his wrongdoings and requested a second chance, expressing his fear of being away from his family for an extended period.
He noted, “This has been the hardest 2 years of my life, and I have no one to blame for my current reality and situation but myself.”
The artist also issued an apology to his former partner, Casandra Ventura, reflecting on the ongoing fallout from the abuse scandal linked to him.
“The scene and images of me assaulting Cassie play over and over in my head daily. I literally lost my mind. I was dead wrong for putting my hands on the woman that I loved.”
In addition to his remarks addressing Ventura, he expressed remorse to another victim, referred to as Jane in court, and assured that such behavior would not happen again.
Diddy emphasized that his children are his main inspiration to reform his life.
“I ask you for mercy today, not only for my sake, but for the sake of my children. I can’t change the past, but I can change the future. I have been humbled and broken to my core.”
Reactions flooded social media following the news of his letter.
While some users showed support, others were critical. @zenzo99815279 remarked, “This unfair justice system. Free Diddy.”
In contrast, @BlueNip dismissed his claims, stating: “Are we not tired of these narcissistic sociopaths who have no conscience when they do the crime and then play victim when they get busted?”
Comments from South African users linked local politics to the discussion, suggesting that EFF leader Julius Malema, recently convicted in his firearm case, might adopt a similar approach.
