Doja Cat has officially wrapped up her eagerly awaited fifth studio project, Vie. The artist shared this achievement with followers through a concise post in French on X (previously known as Twitter).
She casually mentioned, “L’album est complet,” which translates to “The album is complete,” and accompanied her message with a croissant emoji. This was a light-hearted reference to the album’s French title, which symbolizes “life” in English.

Set for release this fall, Vie signifies Doja Cat’s return to a pop-centric sound following her 2023 release Scarlet, as noted by Billboard.
Scarlet made its debut at number 4 on the Billboard 200 and included the hit single “Paint the Town Red.”
In a recent chat with V Magazine, Doja Cat articulated that the forthcoming album is distinctly geared toward pop music.
She remarked, “I want to be self-aware enough to admit the fact that this is a pop-driven project.” She elaborated on how pop is viewed culturally.
“Pop is just that, it’s popular. It starts to become a bit of a thing that’s viewed as a sport by people who are just bystanders to it, who enjoy it. Maybe they also don’t respect it or what it is, which is just music”.

Doja Cat also disclosed that Vie delves into themes of love, romance, and sexuality with an optimistic outlook for the future.
She stated, “This album is very much about love in a way that reflects how I want it to be in the future, my hope, my hopefulness.
What I hope it could be.” She contrasted this with the current landscape of pop music, which frequently focuses on songs about breakups and cynical views on relationships.
Even though no official singles from Vie have been unveiled as of now, Doja Cat has provided sneak peeks of unreleased tracks on her social media platforms.
RECENT COLLABORATIONS
She recently teamed up with RAYE and LISA on the track Born Again and made appearances on Jack Harlow’s Just Us and Don Toliver’s Lose My Mind from the F1 soundtrack.
This has kept her visibility prominent in the music industry.
Doja Cat plans to release her new single, “Jealous Type,” on August 21, intensifying the excitement for the album’s release.
