In a significant operation, the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Mpumalanga apprehended a man with dagga valued at over R3 million.

As reported by Mpumalanga SAPS Spokesperson, Captain Mpho Nonyane-Mpe, officers on routine patrol along the N4 road came across a brown Toyota Hilux parked nearby.
The vehicle featured a brown canopy and had registration numbers from Mpumalanga.
“The astute members stopped to investigate and discovered that the vehicle was fully loaded with 41 bags of dagga. The confiscated dagga weighed approximately 502,6 kilograms and had an estimated street value exceeding R3 million,” Nonyane-Mpe stated.
The 37-year-old suspect was taken into custody on charges related to dealing in dagga.
An appearance in the Barberton Magistrate’s Court is anticipated for the suspect on Thursday (today).
Major General Dr Zeph Mkhwanazi, the Acting Provincial Commissioner of SAPS in Mpumalanga, praised the officers for their unwavering commitment to tackling drug-related offenses.
