Eminem Kept JID’s ‘Fuel’ Verse Vaulted for 3 Years Before Its Release

Eminem reportedly kept a verse by JID, known for his critically acclaimed work, on the track “Fuel” in his vault for nearly three years. JID sent the verse to Eminem in 2021, coinciding with the drafting of NFL quarterback Kellen Mond. The verse was eventually released on Eminem’s album, “The Death of Slim Shady,” which has earned the rapper multiple awards at the American Music Awards, stirring mixed reactions from fans like streamer Kai Cenat. In addition to his music accolades, Eminem is also making a return to film with a cameo in Adam Sandler’s upcoming comedy sequel, “Happy Gilmore 2.”

The Long-Awaited Release of JID’s Verse

Eminem reportedly kept JID’s acclaimed verse on “Fuel” in the vault for nearly three years before its release on The Death of Slim Shady last year.

JID asserted he sent his verse to Eminem in 2021, noting that he recorded it years prior to its eventual public debut.

In a now-deleted X post, he mentioned, “years before it dropped, whatever year Kellen Mond got drafted,” referencing the former Texas A&M quarterback.

Eminem’s Recent Success and Controversy

At the American Music Awards, Eminem won Favorite Hip Hop Artist and Favorite Hip Hop Album, stirring mixed reactions, especially from streamer Kai Cenat.

Cenat, present at the event, expressed surprise during a livestream, stating, “Let’s be real. I mess with Slim Shady but let’s be real.”

Eminem’s awards win overshadowed Kendrick Lamar, the expected favorite, highlighting the ongoing debate about the artists’ respective impacts in hip-hop.

In a recent turn of events, Eminem has apparently stored JID’s impressive verse from “Fuel” for almost three years before finally including it in his album, The Death of Slim Shady. Since its release, JID has clarified that he sent the verse back in 2021, coinciding with references to quarterback Kellen Mond, who was drafted that year.

Eminem’s triumphant return to the spotlight was also marked at the American Music Awards, where he snagged awards for Favorite Hip Hop Artist and Favorite Hip Hop Album, leaving some like streamer Kai Cenat expressing surprise at his win against favorites like Kendrick Lamar.

Additionally, Eminem is not just conquering the music scene; he has made a notable cameo in Adam Sandler’s upcoming film, Happy Gilmore 2. Sandler praised Eminem’s comedic talent, indicating that their collaboration was filled with memorable moments and laughter.
