On Thursday, September 4, 2025, the news and gossip platform MDNews shared DJ Chymamusique’s latest health update online, shortly after DJ Poizen’s family spoke out about their loss.
According to the announcement shared by MDNews, the 35-year-old music artist, whose name is Collen Mmotla, continues to fight for his life in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and officials are still looking into the precise circumstances surrounding the accident.
“DJ Chymamusique is still in the ICU following a fatal crash. Acclaimed house music producer DJ Chymamusique remains in the intensive care unit as he continues to fight for his life after last weekend’s tragic car accident on the N1 near Ysterberg Mountain. The crash, which claimed the life of his collaborator and fellow artist DJ Poizen, also left several fatalities and others injured and brought renewed calls for road safety in Limpopo,” the post reads.
