Back To The City 2025 Unveils Final Line-Up With SA’s Rap Heavyweights. Back To The City has finalized its line-up for 2025, and the anticipation is building. The 19th installment of Africa’s premier hip-hop festival will take place in Newtown, Johannesburg on 11 October 2025, with the theme: Power in Numbers.

Back To The City 2025 Unveils Final Line-Up With SA’s Rap Heavyweights

Leading the international line-up is Lupe Fiasco, who will deliver hits that define his era. South African artists joining the stage include Cassper Nyovest, Big Zulu, Blxckie, Kwesta, Emtee, Maglera Doe Boy, Priddy Ugly, Touchline, Wordz, K Keed, and ZuluMecca, creating a diverse representation of hip-hop culture from various locations and times.Unique experiences are on schedule, including Power Hour featuring KindlyNxsh, Kane Keid, Babydiaz, and Ziggy4x. Sixbynine will showcase rising talent with artists such as Brother Kupa, Flowjones Jr, Mfanatouchline, Babylowsky, Kiddo CSA, Jaykatana, Leodaleo, and Killbrady. Pretoria artists will shine during the PTA Moment, presenting 25K, Loatinover Pounds, Jay Jody, Buzzi, Lee n’Veigh, Blaklez, Mochen, PdotO, G-Tech, and 2Bit B.O.Y Wonder. The festival will honor legends Mdu Masilela and Tuks Senganga, while bands like Sun Xa Experiment, Iphupho L’ka Biko, and Jae Nune enrich the atmosphere. Additionally, winners of competitions, Mthizo, Scar Stunner, and Nicole Luv will take the stage.

Throughout the day, DJs will keep the crowd energized, featuring Venom, Sliqe, Kyotic, Fifi Laa, Zan D, Lesedi The DJ, Kenzhero, Mr X, among many others. Beyond the music, the festival transforms into a vibrant space within the city, including graffiti walls, producer contests, battles between MCs and DJs, a skate park, basketball games, viewing areas, as well as markets for clothing and food, making Newtown feel like a hip-hop celebration.Ticket sales are brisk, with over 15,800 already purchased. The final tickets are available on Webtickets. Attendees can expect a day of excitement where connections are made, well-known tracks are celebrated, and new favorites emerge.
