The Mosimane name is again in the news, but this time, it’s the younger generation that is drawing attention.

Reatlegile “Rea” Mosimane, the son of renowned South African coach Pitso Mosimane, is on the verge of a significant opportunity after being invited for a trial with a prominent La Liga team.
This isn’t merely a case of benefitting from a notable surname.
The young striker from the Kaizer Chiefs academy has been steadily enhancing his reputation in youth football, regularly scoring goals and displaying commendable performances. His efforts have attracted attention.
Such dedication has paved the way for a chance in Spain, a move that could significantly impact his career in professional football.
During an appearance on Marawa Sports Worldwide, Mosimane emphasized that his son’s selection is based solely on his abilities.
“A week before he got injured, he got a trial in Spain,” he shared. “I won’t name the club now, but it’s a strong team with one of the best youth development programmes.”
He also rejected any claims of favoritism, underscoring that contemporary scouting primarily depends on players’ performances rather than their family connections.
“There’s a lot of scouting happening. Games are recorded, some are live – decisions are not made on hype, but on consistent performances,” he stated.
The primary obstacle has been a two-month injury that temporarily postponed the opportunity. However, insiders suggest that once he recovers, Rea could very well take his chance to play abroad.
While the specific club has not been disclosed, Mosimane noted that it is not among Spain’s traditional powerhouses like FC Barcelona or Real Madrid, but still possesses a good reputation for nurturing young talent.
Rea has already had some international training experience, having previously participated in a Barcelona-affiliated academy in Cairo, Egypt, during his father’s stint with Al Ahly SC.
As he gears up for what could be the beginning of a career in Europe, attention is focused on the promising striker.
