  • Netflix has confirmed both the title and release date for 50 Cent’s documentary focused on Diddy
  • The documentary will showcase exclusive footage, personal accounts, and updates related to the allegations against Diddy
  • The announcement has elicited varied responses, with some viewers expressing support for the project, while others question its timing and intent

Netflix has finally disclosed the title and release date for 50 Cent’s long-anticipated documentary centered on Sean “Diddy” Combs. The streaming service also unveiled the promotional poster and first teaser trailer for the project.

In 2023, reports indicated that Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson had begun preparations for a documentary exploring the allegations surrounding Diddy. He had also committed to donating the profits from the documentary to Diddy’s alleged victims.

Netflix announces release date for 50 Cent’s documentary

Netflix has shared that the docuseries will no longer carry the title Diddy Do It? After successfully acquiring the project in May 2024, the platform announced the release date and title for the eagerly awaited series.

On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, Netflix debuted the first promotional poster for the Diddy documentary, which is directed by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Alexandria Stapleton. It was revealed that the series will be available for streaming beginning December 2, 2025. The announcement on X (Twitter) read:

“’Sean Combs: The Reckoning.’ December 2”

The four-part series, with executive production from 50 Cent, will incorporate updates on the legal case, including Diddy’s recent conviction and his subsequent 50-month prison sentence.

The first teaser trailer for the documentary has also been released, announcing the release date and title. In the preview, a voice states:

“You can’t continue to keep hurting people, and nothing ever happens.”

The documentary will include never-before-seen footage and interviews with Diddy’s former associates, artists, childhood friends, and staff.

Public reaction to the announcement of Diddy’s documentary

Following the announcement, social media users expressed a wide range of opinions. Some supported 50 Cent’s efforts, while others were critical. Several commenters anticipated legal repercussions and speculated the series might not meet expectations, drawing parallels to another high-profile docuseries, Beauty and the Bester.

Among the comments was @mbali_ndlela who stated:

“50 Cent is the embodiment of ‘My hate is a long-term investment.’”

@takeitlow65 suggested:

“Sounds and looks like a future legal settlement. Kicking the man while he is down ain’t cool either. No defense here of wrongdoings if Sean Combs is guilty, but why the need to air alleged affairs or speculation? IMO”

@LincolnLumbe commented:

“Making money off someone you are beefing with must be a nice feeling.”

@chibabababa4 expressed:

“I already know it’s gonna be underwhelming. Gonna leave us with more questions than answers, and it’s gonna be answering the wrong questions. Remember Beauty and the Bester? Bookmark this.”
