After thrilling audiences across the globe, from London to Ibiza, the internationally acclaimed Amapiano collective Piano People is set to bring its highly anticipated showcase back to South Africa for the very first time. Scheduled for 30th December 2025, Cape Town will be the site of this significant edition of the international series—a culmination of years of effort that aims to highlight the cultural impact of Amapiano.
Established in 2021, Piano People has emerged as a key representative of Amapiano and African dance music on the world stage. Their goal is to elevate the genre, support its artists, and pay homage to its origins. The collective has successfully hosted numerous sold-out events at esteemed venues such as London’s DRUMSHEDS, the Ministry of Sound, and during Afro Nation. Their event earlier this year, Piano People in the Park, transformed London into a vibrant Amapiano hub, attracting thousands of attendees and receiving widespread recognition.
Now, Piano People is returning to its roots by collaborating with renowned South African event organizer Anything Goes. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Cape Town in the summer, the homecoming on December 30th is expected to deliver an exceptional experience filled with music, unity, and cultural significance. Attendees can look forward to a top-tier production and a lineup that honors both the genre’s trailblazers and emerging talents.
This gathering represents more than just a celebration—it marks a pivotal moment for a genre that originated in South Africa’s townships and has now gained international recognition. As the global Amapiano community flourishes, the return of Piano People to South Africa signifies a momentous occasion, reflecting on the genre’s journey and its promising future.
