Softfootball noted that the 32-year-old reached this milestone by scoring twice in Bayern Munich’s 4-0 win against Werder Bremen. This accomplishment makes Kane the fastest player to net 100 goals for a club in one of Europe’s top five leagues this century.
He has broken the previous record held by both Erling Haaland and Cristiano Ronaldo, who each took 105 matches to reach 100 goals for Manchester City and Real Madrid, respectively. Reports suggest that Kane has a release clause of just under £57 million that will activate next summer if he indicates a desire to leave the Bundesliga champions prior to the end of January 2026.

If Bayern Munich captures the league and Champions League titles, Kane could emerge as the top scorer in both competitions, which would bolster his chances for the Ballon d’Or.
However, given recent reports, he might be playing for a different side when the awards ceremony occurs in Paris next year. Despite speculation linking him to a return to Tottenham Hotspur, as well as interest from Liverpool and Manchester United, Kane dismissed a move back to England in his post-match comments on Friday, according to Fabrizio Romano via his X account. He tweeted:
Harry Kane on his future and links with return to England: “No, I’m not thinking about PL return at the moment. I’m really happy here. I have two years left on my contract. I’m enjoying every moment. Bayern is the best place to win trophies, absolutely.
Kane’s remarks might alleviate concerns that he is contemplating a return to England following the 2026 World Cup. During his 19 years at Tottenham Hotspur, he scored a club-record 280 goals in 435 games but did not win any trophies, leading to his £100 million transfer to Bayern in August 2023.
A key factor in Kane’s decision to leave England was his desire to win trophies, something that eluded him at Spurs. In October 2024, he won the Gerd Müller Trophy for most goals in a year alongside Kylian Mbappé, and he has discussed his reasons for departing the Premier League.
Last season, the England captain claimed his first professional trophy after scoring 26 league goals, helping Bayern clinch the Bundesliga title, and he began the new season by lifting the German Super Cup in August.
Kane has enjoyed a prolific start to the 2025-26 season, scoring eight times in his first four matches, which included two hat-tricks in the Bundesliga against RB Leipzig and Hoffenheim.
