The Appointment of Lafitte Alexandre
On Monday morning, Marumo Gallants FC introduced Lafitte Alexandre as their new Head Coach, lauded for being the youngest coach in professional football at just 28 years old.
Club chairman Abram Sello expressed optimism about Lafitte’s role, stating, “We are the youngest club, and we want to take up the challenge to ensure that our vision and mission are realized.”
Lafitte previously led Stade Abidjan to their first Ivorian league title in 56 years, showcasing his potential to impact Marumo positively this upcoming season.
Transition from Abdeslam Ouaddou
Marumo Gallants parted ways with previous coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, who has reportedly joined Orlando Pirates after a tumultuous relationship with the club.
Although there were claims of a contractual dispute, Sello clarified that the separation was amicable, saying, “There was no dispute because we did the best we could.”
Ouaddou joined Marumo on a short-term deal in March, and the club had considered legal action regarding his departure, though Sello confirmed the coaching transition was handled professionally.
