Formula 1 confirmed on Saturday that the Las Vegas Grand Prix will remain on its schedule through at least 2027, following a collective decision by F1 officials and race organizers to extend the event. The races will occur annually on the weekend before Thanksgiving, with the intention of establishing a long-term presence in Las Vegas, given the significant revenue and local tax benefits generated.

Continued Commitment to the Las Vegas Grand Prix

The Las Vegas Grand Prix has secured its position on the Formula 1 calendar until at least 2027, confirming organizers’ ongoing commitment to the event.

Las Vegas GP president Emily Prazer stated, “We’ve agreed collectively that we’re going to do a two-year extension for 2026 and ’27,” highlighting the intent for a longer-term arrangement.

With plans extending through 2032, Clark County officials indicate the race is expected to become a permanent fixture in the F1 schedule, emphasizing incremental growth.

Economic Impact and Future Prospects

According to estimates, the 2024 Las Vegas GP generated approximately $934 million in revenue and $45 million in taxes, underscoring its economic significance.

The race is strategically scheduled for the weekend before Thanksgiving, continuing its trajectory of profitability and public interest.

Steve Hill, CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, remarked, “We’re planning on this being a permanent race,” indicating optimism for future extensions and developments.

With the Las Vegas Grand Prix secured on the Formula 1 schedule through at least 2027, the event is set to solidify its status as a staple in the racing calendar, promising continued economic boosts and high-octane entertainment for years to come.
