Podcaster, Lungelo “KM” Mdletshe proudly marks the launch of his television career as a host of SABC 1’s educational show, Daily Thetha.
The creator of the Engineer Your Life podcast made his inaugural television appearance on Monday, April 6. Based on the feedback on his Instagram account, it seems he left a positive impression.
LUNGELO KM’S TELEVISION DEBUT ON ‘DAILY THETHA’
The seventh season of Daily Thetha kicked off on Monday, April 6, introducing new personalities like Nelisiwe Cele and Gcina Mdikane.
Ursula Mariani, who is a podcaster and lecturer at Wits University, makes a return from the previous season.
Lungelo shared his gratitude for this incredible opportunity as he begins to showcase his broadcasting skills. He simply captioned his post “First Live TV show, settled.”
‘ENGINEER YOUR LIFE WITH LUNGELO KM’
Lungelo’s career as an electrical engineer influenced the title of his podcast, and the caliber of guests along with exceptional production further amplify its impact.
As a host, he is adept at uncovering the layers of his guests while maintaining a sense of respect and professionalism.
At the 2025 Hollywood Foundation KZN Youth Business Awards, his successful podcast clinched the Youth in Media Award, solidifying its reputation in the media landscape.
“Recognition, being acknowledged and empowered within my home province, is such a privilege,” Lungelo expressed after accepting the award.
LUNGELO KM: AN AVID PURSUER OF EDUCATION
The 31-year-old earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and was “conferred with a Master in Business Leadership” from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in 2024.
UKZN seems to be a popular choice among stars, as singer Nomfundo Moh graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the same university in 2022.
LUNGELO KM’S SKILLS REMAIN SOUGHT AFTER
Lungelo’s capabilities as a facilitator were sought by fellow podcaster Promise Makunyane when she launched her first book, My Broken Promise, at the University of South Africa in Pretoria.
In a reflection of how he steered the conversation, he wrote the following caption on Instagram:
“Privileged to have been in conversation with author and businesswoman@promise_makunyaneon the launch of her debut release, “My Broken Promise”, hosted by@unisa_universityofsouthafricamain library, Lungelo wrote.
“I surely led this conversation with grace, empathy, and ample opportunities for growth and reflection,” he added.
GQ Magazine also tapped Lungelo to host their Grooming Masterclass event set for August 2024, where he excelled.
“Over the past several years, I’ve built a platform focused on personal development and well-being,” he noted.
“Joining the GQ family is a significant validation of my efforts, and I’m excited to embrace a leadership role in steering the GQ community toward a deeper comprehension and practice of men’s grooming and self-care,” Lungelo remarked when discussing the exciting opportunity to lead the masterclass.
