Major League DJz have addressed claims made by three Kenyan promoters who allege that the duo has consistently failed to uphold fully paid performance agreements.
The promoters—The Afters KE, 6AM Entertainment, and The Human District Company—released a joint statement on Monday, 24 November 2025, accusing the artists of breaching contracts on various occasions. They contend that these failures have resulted in financial losses and left fans disappointed, who were eager to see the Amapiano group perform.
The promoters asserted that multiple bookings were made for the twins, including an upcoming appearance at The Afters KE African Music Festival, set for 12 and 13 December at Fort Jesus Museum, none of which the artists attended.
They claimed that full payment was made for all bookings.
“Despite fulfilling all financial and logistical requirements on our part, the artists and the management have completely failed to honour their commitments, resulting in significant financial losses for our companies and immense disappointment for the Kenyan public,” the statement read.
The accusations prompted a vigorous online discussion after Major League DJz publicly responded to the promoters’ statement. The artists rejected the allegations, claiming they had never entered into any agreement with the three promoters.
They suggested that the promoters may have been in contact with unauthorized agents rather than directly communicating with them or their management team.
“We didn’t sign any contract with you,” they stated.
“We have hundreds of promoters in Kenya who have been trying to book us, and we haven’t done the show because, mainly, we are looking to bring our own show first to Kenya and work with the right promoter, too.”
The duo also claimed that they have not received any payments, explaining that a bank transaction was declined.
They indicated that the funds would be returned once the matter is resolved. Additionally, the artists mentioned their intention to stage their own show in Kenya in the near future, separate from the promoters making the claims.
Major League DJz joins a growing list of artists who have faced accusations of not honoring scheduled performances, a list that includes names like King Monada, DJ Maphorisa, Young Stunna, and Makhadzi.
