Fabrizio shared on his X account as follows:
“Manchester United sent official bid to show serious, concrete intentions to RB Leipzig… following Newcastle €90m bid.
“Sources at Man United believe Šeško is keen on the move and have decided to move forward with a formal bid.
“Newcastle and United, are awaiting his official decision.”
The offer from United was approved internally after key individuals at Carrington learned that Šeško is receptive to transferring to Old Trafford.
While specific details concerning United’s bid remain undisclosed, it is believed to be competitive, particularly with Newcastle having also submitted an €80m + €10m add-ons package this week, as previously reported by Softfootball.
The 21-year-old is well-regarded for his clever movement, strong physique, and poise in finishing, qualities prioritized by United’s recruitment team following Anthony Martial’s departure and Rasmus Højlund’s erratic performances.
On the other hand, Newcastle remains actively in the running. Their bid is still valid, and Šeško has yet to dismiss the promising project at St James’ Park under Ruud van Nistelrooy. However, the balance may now shift towards United, who moved quickly upon receiving positive indications from the player’s agents.
RB Leipzig has not established an official deadline but anticipates a decision in the coming days as Šeško considers both sporting opportunities. Leipzig is amenable to selling this summer, but only on their terms, and has no interest in activating a release clause discount or engaging in a player exchange.
