Tuks Senganga and Mo Molemi Unite to Revive the Soul of Motswako in a Triumphant Comeback

Hip hop legend Tuks Senganga, alongside collaborator Mo Molemi, is set to revive the Motswako genre in South African hip-hop. After observing the industry from the sidelines for over a decade, they performed their highly anticipated comeback concert in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, on Saturday night, aiming to reconnect audiences with the depth and richness of Motswako.

The Return of Tuks Senganga

After a decade in the shadows, Tuks Senganga has made a triumphant return to South African hip-hop, aiming to restore the genre’s cultural richness. His upcoming work is highly anticipated.

Tuks, whose real name is Tumelo Kepadisa, expressed his struggles with the industry, stating, “The music industry no longer spoke to me, so I decided to take a step back.”

His new venture, alongside Mo Molemi, is aimed at reestablishing what Motswako means in contemporary music. “People can expect a catalogue of my music. They will hear dope lyricism,” he declared.

In a momentous return to the South African hip-hop scene, Tuks Senganga and Mo Molemi are set to redefine Motswako with their Black Tie Tour. Their mission transcends nostalgia; it aims to rejuvenate the genre by blending contemporary sounds with the rich cultural heritage that inspired them. As Tuks himself remarks, they are ready to create music that resonates with both the past and future, ensuring that the essence of Motswako remains relevant and celebrated.
