Emerging artist Tebogo Mashego, celebrated for his song Biri Marung, has been taken into custody according to reports.
Earlier, Mashego was in the news when he requested R23 million from Scorpion Kings and publicly criticized DJ Maphorisa.
This week, the Biri Marung star also gained traction online after sharing that he was stranded in Nigeria and sought donations.
Celebrity blog Maphepha Ndaba posted a video on its Instagram account concerning Tebogo Mashego’s alleged detention on September 24, 2025.
“Just In: @tebogogmashego arrested! Details of his arrest are still sketchy,” said the blog.
