Nota expresses his support for Mac G and Sol Phenduka in light of the recent controversies surrounding Kaya FM.
Sol Phenduka’s recent termination from Kaya FM has ignited a fiery discussion on social media, prompting music executive Nota Baloyi to encourage both Phenduka and his podcast partner Mac G to seek legal recourse against the station.
Initially suspended and subsequently let go, Phenduka’s dismissal appears to be associated with a lawsuit filed by Minnie Dlamini against the podcast.
This decision has created a split in public opinion, with some people in support of Sol while others believe he should face consequences for his involvement with the controversial platform.
Nota articulated his perspective on social media, stating: “Sol Phenduka & MacG must sue KayaFM… Simple & plain. This is a defamatory smear campaign. You can never under our constitution be held accountable for someone else’s statements. Not a f***ing chance. They must sue that Neanderthal David Tiltmann in his personal capacity as well!”

Supporters were equally split in their responses.
Some echoed Nota’s appeal, arguing that Sol should also “sue Minnie for suing him for something he didn’t do which resulted in losing his job.”
Conversely, others contended that Sol was complicit, with one critic stating: “He may not have uttered anything offensive, but he was highly involved and even contributed a laugh! Familiarize yourself with the law, South Africans, and start engaging in deeper reading instead of making assumptions!”
