Pearl Thusi has fully stepped into the music industry
Pearl Thusi is embarking on a new phase in her career, this time making a confident entry into music.
The well-known media figure is preparing to debut her first single, a partnership with Maskandi artist Ihhashi Elimhlophe, which marks another significant step in her diverse career.
While many recognize Thusi as an actress, model, entrepreneur, and television personality, she has also been carving a niche for herself as a DJ.
After debuting at the Makhelwane Festival in Soweto in 2024, she has performed over 125 shows both locally and internationally, gracing prestigious stages such as the Spotify Cannes event and the NBA Africa Finals held in Kigali.
Her musical journey runs alongside her accomplishments in film and television.
Thusi has appeared in various international projects, such as “Quantico,” where she played Dayana Mampasi, and “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency,” portraying Patricia Kopong.
She was the lead in Netflix’s inaugural African original series, “Queen Sono,” showcased her skills in action in “Wu Assassins,” and is currently starring in “Average Joe,” a new project by Deon Cole set to premiere on Paramount+.
In addition to her artistic pursuits, Thusi has developed a notable business profile.
She introduced the Black Pearl Collection haircare line in collaboration with Afrobotanics, became MAC Cosmetics’ first African partner with two exclusive collections, and co-owns Black Rose Gin.
Her forthcoming single is a blend of Afro-house, Amapiano, Maskandi, and deep tribal sounds, reflecting her evolving musical style.
A preview of the track has generated buzz online, with one user on X commenting, “Who the hell gave Pearl Thusi this hit??? WTF.” Thusi promptly responded, “I actually wrote it. But thanks.”
