Following a life-changing stroke in July 2024, Da L.E.S has shared an important update. In an emotional video posted on his YouTube channel, the rapper disclosed his move to the United States.
The artist, who is officially known as Leslie Mampe Jr, hosted a farewell gathering prior to his move. This event, held in Johannesburg, was attended by close friends and family, including Don Design and fellow rappers Maggz and L-Tido.
Da L.E.S announces exciting relocation to the U.S
In the video, the Lifestyle hitmaker explained the main motive behind his relocation, which is to spend quality time with his family. He reassured fans about his plans to return to Mzansi.
“We are moving to Houston, Texas. I am going out there to spend some time with my family in the States, but do not worry, Mzansi, I’ will be back.”
While discussing his stroke on Da L.E.S Network, he expressed overwhelming gratitude for surviving such a harrowing experience.
“I suffered a stroke. People thought I was going to die. I made it. I think right now, it is just to motivate people. People want to know what is wrong with me. I want to help people because this is real; it can happen to anybody.”
He recounted how his life changed in an instant, yet he remains optimistic about his future.
Da L.E.S then expressed his appreciation to everyone who attended the celebration.
“I am just lucky to be alive. Shout out to all the people who came out. I feel good. I feel happy that I am still here, but the whole purpose of me filming is to let y’all into my life in a real way, I think, and also to inspire.”
In the heartfelt video, fellow rapper and friend L-Tido wished Da L.E.S a safe journey. “When you come back, everything is gonna be good. You know we got you, we love you. We got your back forever.”
