After over 20 years in the music scene, South African hip-hop artist Reason is getting ready to commemorate a major milestone that showcases his evolution and ties to his origins. Earlier today, he announced on Instagram an upcoming event titled “Sizwe Alkaline vs. Reason”, which aims to unite fans, collaborators, and the community for a memorable occasion.

In his Instagram post, Reason expressed his enthusiasm for the occasion, underscoring the significance of recognizing this achievement together with the community that has been by his side throughout his journey. “This a public service announcement to let you know that we are bringing it home,” he remarked. He elaborated, “The team has spoken, the crew has spoken, we feel there is no better place to celebrate 21 years of the game for me and my fans other than to bring it home, in my community, the same community that was there for me when I was coming up, the same community that was there for me when I was blowing up and the same community that got my back even now.”

This extraordinary celebration is scheduled for September 27 at Hurricanes Lifestyle in Katlehong. The event collaborates with Kathorus Social Market, a community-driven initiative that resonates with Reason’s aim to give back to his hometown.

A highlight of the event is the roster of South African artists who will join Reason on stage. Kwesta, a prominent name in the hip-hop arena, will perform alongside him. Other confirmed performers include Robot Boi, Gigi Lamayne, Pearl Thusi, Lady Du, Nadia Nakai, Maggz, and many more, showcasing the rich talent present in the local music scene.

Marking 21 years in the music industry is a commendable feat, reflecting Reason’s endurance and impact within the ever-changing realm of South African hip-hop. This landmark occasion is more than a celebration; it is a salute to the fans and community that have played a crucial role in his achievements.

The event on September 27 is expected to be a significant gathering for music enthusiasts, bringing together some of the nation’s leading artists for a night of celebration and introspection. Reason’s milestone not only highlights his prior accomplishments but also signifies his continued influence and relevance in the music landscape.
