The 24-year-old, who made the move to Los Blancos from Santos in 2019, was linked to a transfer to the Premier League this summer, with clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City mentioned as potential suitors.
Despite being a second half substitute in Real Madrid’s 3-1 victory over Villarreal prior to the international break, Rodrygo is determined to remain at the Bernabeu and compete for a starting position.

Football analyst Fabrizio Romano has reported through his official X account that Rodrygo is not considering a departure from Real Madrid in the near future. He stated:
Rodrygo: “Being on the bench this season? You have to respect the coach’s decisions. If I start, I’ll play at 100%, and if I’m on the bench, same thing”.
“If I play 20 minutes, I have to make the most of them. I try to enjoy it every minute I play for this club”, told AS.
Currently, Rodrygo finds himself behind Vinicius Junior and recent signing Franco Mastantuono in the lineup. He is confident that manager Xabi Alonso still appreciates his contributions, and as a dedicated team player, he aims to help the squad meet its goals this season.
Rodrygo has already been part of Real Madrid teams that secured titles in LaLiga and the UEFA Champions League, gaining considerable experience by age 24. He is content in his supportive role within the squad.
Real Madrid sits at the top of LaLiga with 21 points after eight matches, holding a two-point lead over their rivals Barcelona.
