Kempton Park, South Africa – The trial of notorious convicted serial killer Nomia Rosemary Ndlovu and her co-defendant Nomsa Mudau drew significant public attention as they appeared in the Kempton Park Regional Magistrate’s Court on 20 May 2026.
The two women are charged with conspiracy to commit murder, linked to a disturbing alleged insurance fraud scheme.
According to prosecutors, in 2018, Ndlovu and Mudau, both former police officers, allegedly conspired to hire hitmen to murder Mudau’s ex-husband, Justice Mudau, in order to claim a life insurance payout of R3 million. Reportedly, the hitman was promised compensation ranging from R80,000 to R150,000 for executing the plan.
The plot reportedly unraveled when one of the hired hitmen had a change of heart, confessing his intentions and alerting the target, ultimately saving Justice Mudau from harm.
Who is Rosemary Ndlovu?
Ndlovu has acquired a reputation as one of South Africa’s most infamous female serial killers, currently serving six life sentences for the brutal killings of six family members and acquaintances between 2012 and 2018, all motivated by financial gain through insurance and funeral payouts.
Despite being imprisoned, she is now facing additional allegations of orchestrating another murder in collaboration with Mudau.
Mudau has categorically denied the charges against her, asserting that she never took any threats seriously and has pleaded not guilty. The case has drawn nationwide interest as both women awaited the magistrate’s decision in court.
