TikTok creator and livestreamer Shabbawama 2K recently reached out to his audience for assistance in upgrading his studio setup. Unfortunately, what began as a promising fundraising campaign took an unforeseen turn.
“Greetings everyone. My name is Shabbawama2k. I’m a social media influencer and TikTok live streamer,” he stated in his appeal.
“Over time, I’ve been privileged to use my platform to positively impact many lives through my live videos. However, I’ve recently come to realise the quality of my content has not met the standard I aim for. To continue creating meaningful, high-quality content and improve my live stream production, I am kindly reaching out for your support.”
He explained that any contributions would assist in acquiring the necessary studio equipment to elevate his production quality.
The message quickly gained traction on social media, attracting significant support from followers and fellow influencers alike.
Among those who expressed willingness to help was amapiano artist Scotts Maphuma, who seemed eager to assist. His response was brief yet promising: “Let’s go buy it tomorrow.”
Unfortunately, the situation took a disappointing turn when Shabbawama later indicated that the musician did not fulfill his commitment.
“Scotts Maphuma, who said he was going to cover all the costs, didn’t pick up his phone,” Shabbawama expressed, clearly disheartened.
Despite this setback, he remained thankful to several prominent individuals who did support his initiative.
He mentioned that Tyler ICU, Lekau, and Primo each contributed to his studio upgrade.
