Sizwe Dhlomo responds to Nota’s suggestion of acquiring Kaya FM
Music industry figure Nota Baloyi stirred up discussions online after suggesting that he would acquire Kaya FM if financial resources permitted.
In a joking tweet, Nota remarked: “If my Dad was a billionaire I’d buy Kaya FM…😔”
The tweet elicited a swift response from Kaya FM host Sizwe Dhlomo, who replied with a playful rejection: “We’re not for sale. Lol!”
Dhlomo’s comment quickly ignited a discussion, with many users interpreting his wording in various ways.
Some users teased him, suggesting he sounded as if he were a stakeholder in the station, while others accused him of having a larger role in Sol Phenduka’s recent dismissal.

“I am now convinced that you are the one who fired Sol, ulimenemene Dinangwe,” one commenter stated, while another noted: “‘We’, you’re their next largest competitor. Talk about keeping your enemies closer.”
Others continued to joke about Dhlomo’s wording.
A user on X remarked: “‘We’ as if you are a shareholder. You’ll also be fired,” while another added: “Now I believe those who say Kaya FM belongs to you my G.”
Sizwe Dhlomo formerly co-hosted Kaya FM’s breakfast program with Sol Phenduka before the latter’s controversial removal earlier this month, a move that has kept the station and its hosts trending since.
