Dominik Szoboszlai feels that he is in the best form of his career as Liverpool gears up for a crucial Premier League match against Arsenal tonight at the Emirates Stadium.
The Hungarian midfielder spoke to reporters ahead of the match in comments shared through the club’s official X account, with Arne Slot’s team entering the game with a nine-match unbeaten streak across all competitions.

Analyzing his performance this season, Szoboszlai expressed his confidence while emphasizing his commitment to consistency and assisting the team. He stated:
I feel like I am at my peak in my career, I would say: working hard day by day, game by game. Just trying to help the team, give my best and enjoy playing football.
Although he acknowledged his individual growth, the midfielder pointed out that his contentment is closely tied to the team’s success. He noted:
Well, no. Because the team is not doing as well as I would like it to, so I cannot enjoy it as much as I would enjoy it if we would also win the games and be in the same position like, for example, last season. But that’s the aim. That’s what we are aiming for.

Szoboszlai also shared insights about his increasing role within the squad, suggesting he prefers to lead through actions rather than words. He mentioned:
To say it is hard, but I always try to show it on the pitch with my performances. And also off the pitch, I try to help everybody, try to be there. I’m speaking on the pitch, I would say.
When discussing his aspirations for the future, the former RB Leipzig player expressed his desire to potentially captain Liverpool in the future. He said:
I can imagine [it], yes. I would love to. Of course, it’s an honour to be a captain of Liverpool FC. I think everybody would love to be. Yeah of course, if there is a time, I would love to, yeah.
As the season’s critical phase approaches, Szoboszlai emphasized that Liverpool’s mindset is straightforward and focused on achieving results. He remarked:
To look game by game and start to win games, because that’s the first step to success. Then let’s see what the future brings. We have a lot of goals as a team and that’s [what] we would like to achieve.

Discussing his significant moment against Arsenal earlier in the season, when his remarkable free-kick secured a 1-0 victory at Anfield, Szoboszlai reflected on the past while expressing focus on the challenges ahead. He said:
Of course I remember. [But] this is the past, I’m thinking of the future. You cannot live from the past. This happened I don’t know how many games [ago]. I hope another chance is coming and I can do it again.
That impressive free-kick in the previous fixture remains a highlight for Liverpool this season, and Softfootball reports that as the team returns to the Emirates tonight, Szoboszlai aspires to make another impactful contribution as Slot’s squad seeks to extend their unbeaten stretch against title contenders Arsenal.
