Travis Scott makes history at FNB stadium, South Africa
American artist Travis Scott has added his name to the roster of international performers who have successfully filled Johannesburg’s renowned FNB Stadium.
The rapper, known for his hit album Utopia, presented a sold-out show on Saturday, 11 October 2025, as part of his Circus Maximus World Tour.
The event saw thousands of fans brave heavy rain and traffic disruptions in the Nasrec area to attend one of Africa’s largest venues.
Scott’s dynamic performance, enhanced by impressive visuals, pyrotechnics, and a captivating stage presence, received positive feedback from attendees and music critics.
This milestone positions Travis Scott alongside Chris Brown, who also made headlines for selling out FNB Stadium on two consecutive nights in December 2024 as part of his Under the Influence Tour.
Those record-breaking concerts set a new standard for international artists in South Africa, prompting discussions about the potential of local talent to attract similar crowds.
Currently, rapper Cassper Nyovest stands as the only South African artist to have successfully filled the 95,000-seat stadium, a milestone still celebrated within the nation’s entertainment industry.
