Ukhozi FM has announced the death of one of its former hosts and technical producers, Mandla Magwaza, affectionately referred to as Njinji.
The radio station, based in KwaZulu-Natal, shared the unfortunate news via its official Instagram account, stating that the beloved broadcaster and creative contributor passed away on Saturday, 24 January 2026.
While the specific circumstances surrounding his death have not been revealed, the news has touched many, leading fans, colleagues, and friends to reflect on Njinji as a talented and committed individual.
The station acknowledged Magwaza’s significant role at Ukhozi FM and the positive influence he had on his audience in its statement.
“Ukhozi FM wishes to inform you about the death of one of our former presenters who was also a Technical Producer, Mandla Magwaza, who was affectionately known as Njinji,” the station noted.
“We would like to send our condolences to the Magwaza family, his friends, his colleagues and his fans who are fans of Ukhozi FM.”
The tribute elaborated on his background and personality, referring to him as “a proud man from Mahlabuyalingana,” and concluded with: “You fought a good fight. Rest in peace, Mabhulubhense.”
