Cyril Ramaphosa’s son mourns DJ Warras
Tumelo Ramaphosa, son of President Cyril Ramaphosa, expressed his sorrow along with fellow South Africans over the passing of DJ Warras, relaying a heartfelt tribute to the deceased media figure.
DJ Warras, previously a host on 5FM and YFM and a well-regarded television presenter, was fatally shot in Johannesburg on 16 December 2025.
The circumstances of his death, which took place near the Carlton Centre, shocked the entertainment community and prompted numerous tributes on social media platforms.
On 17 December, Tumelo Ramaphosa shared his grief on Instagram, indicating that he had spoken with the DJ shortly before the tragic event.
“@shady_lurker. I was on the phone with you the other day, I had to call you back… 😢 RIP 🙏🏽,” he wrote.
Responses flooded in from fans and admirers of DJ Warras, many of whom took to the comments section to express their own condolences and shock.
