Tyla has achieved a significant milestone by winning the 2024 Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance with her song “Water.” This particular category is making its debut this year. Other notable artists like Asake and Olamide (“Amapiano”), Ayra Starr (“Rush”), Burna Boy (“City Boys”), and Davido featuring Musa Keys (“Unavailable”) were also nominated.

The Best African Music Performance category is part of the three new categories introduced at the 2024 Grammy Awards, alongside Best Alternative Jazz Album and Best Pop Dance Recording. It’s worth noting that Kylie Minogue secured the award for Best Pop Dance Recording.

Fans can anticipate “Water” as a track on Tyla’s much-anticipated self-titled debut album, set to release on March 22.
