Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has shared on his official X account that Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. forward Tolu Arokodare experienced online racial abuse after Wolves’ recent match against Crystal Palace F.C.
Softfootball reports that this unsettling event took place just a day after Chelsea F.C. player Wesley Fofana was targeted with racist messages following his red card in a match that ended in a 1-1 draw with Burnley F.C.
Romano stated:

Arokodare, who transferred to Wolves from KRC Genk in 2025 for €27 million following a reached agreement, had previously faced similar harassment in 2024 after missing a penalty shot.
The 23-year-old forward turned to Instagram to voice his discontent regarding the frequent lack of accountability for those engaging in such abuse. He emphasized the need for united efforts to combat racism in the sport.
He remarked:
It’s still unbelievable to me that we’re playing in a time where people have so much freedom to communicate such racism without any consequences. These individuals should have no place in our game and collectively we have to take action to punish everyone who taints the sport like this, no matter who they are.
Wolves responded with a strong statement denouncing the hateful messages directed at Arokodare, assuring him of their support and confirming that the incident had been reported to relevant social media bodies and authorities. The club reiterated its unwavering stance against such behavior, aligning with broader Premier League efforts to address the increasing issue of online abuse targeting players.
