Workaholics II: Skatle & Gvnt Keep the Grind Alive!

Workaholics II: Hustle & Flow - The Grind Never Stops!

I have recently shared my thoughts on how these artists are influencing the culture by infusing their unique language, slang, and energy into the industry. Skatle and Gvnt, the driving forces behind the dedicated Qwellers crew, released WORKAHOLICS previously, and now they return with WORKAHOLICS II: an eight-track project featuring some of the finest in the scene.

The EP begins with “WAR READY” (ft. Lowfeye), where Lowfeye stands out. He contributes to six tracks on the EP, showcasing confidence, melody, and sharp delivery. The song’s core message is not about violence; it speaks to being prepared for the challenges that accompany success, the kind that makes one’s parents proud.

“FAZE ME” features LaCabra, known for his sharp lyrical skills. His contribution elevates the track to classic status. Following this is “INTELEZI”, where Kane Keid kicks off the hook and first verse, followed by Usimamane, who effortlessly brings aggression and versatility. Lowfeye makes another appearance, reinforcing his importance to the EP.

“2 HUNNID FREESTYLE” shifts the energy with contributions from multiple artists—DaHoodHope, Fanaticalb3ing, Jepedoh, and Yungboyvegeta—each adding distinct layers, expanding the EP’s sound. Meanwhile, “TOP FIVE” (also a single) highlights Lowfeye’s talent once again—catchy and deserving of repeated listens. Next, “MA BOiii” features Tony Dayimane and Lowfeye, which has the potential to become a major hit, bolstered by Tony’s memorable hook and verses.

The final tracks, “SPECIAL” and “LASHONA”, effectively conclude the project with well-placed features and consistent lyrical excellence from Lowfeye, who ties the overall experience together.

Skatle and Gvnt exhibit a keen understanding of storytelling, sequencing, and sound dynamics. Their choice of beats is cohesive, the features are strategically positioned, and the EP flows seamlessly—lacking any filler content. Lowfeye stands out as a central figure: a talented lyricist who also offers melodic variety, including impressive IsiZulu rhymes. This project represents a commendable group effort that reflects ambition balanced with discipline.

The project is undoubtedly a solid, well-crafted collection of tracks. The elements of lyrics, production, sequencing, and features align effectively.

Give it a listen—pay attention to the unique contributions these artists are making.
