The midfielder from Scotland could not be present at the awards ceremony, as he was fully engaged in the match at Diego Maradona stadium, which allowed his team to remain at the top of the league table. This match was crucial for rebuilding team confidence after a midweek loss to Manchester City at the Etihad.<\/p>\n

Billy Gilmour, a former Brighton player, opened the scoring for Napoli with an expertly taken goal in the first half. Pisa equalized through a penalty by M\u2019Bala Nzola. However, Napoli regained the lead in the second half with a goal from Leonardo Spinazzola, followed by a late strike from Lorenzo Lucca that seemed to secure the win. Despite a late goal from Lorran de Sousa making it 3-2, Napoli managed to hold on to their lead.<\/p>\n

This season, McTominay has already contributed to Napoli\u2019s success, scoring in their 2-0 victory against Sassuolo in the season opener. Today, he played a key role in extending their unbeaten streak in Serie A.<\/p>\n

Last season, McTominay was voted Serie A Most Valuable Player after an impressive debut campaign. His ranking of 18th in the Ballon d\u2019Or makes him the top Serie A player, with Inter\u2019s Lautaro Martinez and Denzel Dumfries finishing 20th and 25th, respectively.<\/p>\n
