In an insightful Instagram video, she reflected on the creative journey behind the mixtape, saying, \u201cAgainst All Odds\u2019 I prevail. So many reasons why I named this Mixtape the way I did. A.A.O 🩵💙 Oct 7th,\u201d<\/em> emphasizing the lessons learned along the way.<\/p>\n

At the core of her message is a clear guideline for collaboration: do not force the music. \u201cI\u2019ve actually been working on it for just close to a year,\u201d she explained. \u201cOne of the lessons I learnt is that work with people who wanna work with you. You do not need to force music. The moment you need to start running after people, begging people or feeling like you\u2019re a burden to them, scratch it, move on.\u201d<\/em> For her, this meant following her own instincts. \u201cMove on to the next artist you can envision for the song. Do not force music.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Tasha clearly differentiates between being humble and self-neglecting. \u201cI humbled myself in every approach to every artist. But at one point, I had to [learn] that being humble isn\u2019t enough sometimes. Sometimes you need to know when to draw the line.\u201d<\/em> She noted that the line is drawn when interactions become excessive. \u201cIf you have to run after people, you have to ask them multiple times. Move on, dont waste your time. Work with people who wanna work with you.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

She also addresses the complexities behind missed collaborations. \u201cSometimes we envision an artist on a song, and truly, it is not the right time for them. Maybe they caught up, maybe they are busy, maybe it\u2019s not the time, maybe they are not feeling the vibes, maybe they are not feeling the song, and they dont know how to tell you.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Regardless of these circumstances, she cautions against letting another person’s schedule influence your confidence. \u201cAll I’m saying is, dont waste time, dont wait on people to believe in what you\u2019ve got. Dont wait for people to see the value of the product that you have. If the artist you envisioned on the project is not showing up, move on.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

This was a difficult lesson for her to learn. \u201cI learnt this lesson; it was a hard pill to swallow,\u201d<\/em> she shares. \u201cI\u2019m not gonna lie to you because being rejected is not dope and sometimes it\u2019s not even rejection, it\u2019s just being ignored, even that is not dope.\u201d<\/em> Nevertheless, she finds solace in her decisions. \u201cTo the artists who pulled up for me in this project, I cannot thank you enough. Like the ones on the art cover, those are the ones who pulled up for me and I\u2019m so grateful because it turned out even better than I expected.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Her insights serve as motivation for other creatives facing similar challenges. \u201cI just wanted to share this because I know a lot of times you lose confidence as a creative when people don\u2019t pull up for you, when people don\u2019t say yes to your future, or they ignore you. And I\u2019m just encouraging you not to give up. If you believe in that track, if you believe in that joint, continue with it. Get another artist if the one that you envisioned doesn\u2019t pull up because God has a plan with everything, and it\u2019s worth it.\u201d<\/em> She concludes with a strong message: \u201cIt\u2019s worth moving on, it\u2019s not worth running after or begging or even paying for something that somebody doesn\u2019t believe in you.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
