He noted that they needed to postpone the matter due to being surprised by the additional charges.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI wanted to inform the court that give us time. That&#8217;s at least a day, so that we can go through each and every single count. There are 6 counts that I am not aware of. We were ambushed. I can say so. We were ambushed today. It\u2019s something of an ambush. We were ready to proceed before we were presented with those six new charges. So, we must prepare. I mean, I&#8217;ll be doing a disservice to my client if I were to proceed in a matter that I&#8217;m not prepared for,\u201d Ramusi explained.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"align-left\">According to the <i>Polokwane Observer<\/i>, the new charges against Shebeshxt include three counts of attempted murder, illegal possession of a firearm, malicious damage to property, and robbery with intent to cause bodily harm.<\/p>\n<p class=\"align-left\">Furthermore, the State claims that the rapper is also facing several other charges associated with a warrant of arrest issued in 2023.<\/p>\n<h2>Details of the courtroom incident involving Shebeshxt<\/h2>\n<p class=\"align-left\">During the process of requesting a postponement, Shebeshxt visibly expressed his desire to avoid further delays. Ramusi commented on an incident involving Shebeshxt&#8217;s public performance schedule that circulated online just before his arrest.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cLook, my client has got a lot to lose by remaining in custody. It&#8217;s public knowledge that he&#8217;s probably the most booked artist in South Africa right now, and keeping him in custody is a bit of a burden for him, because every day he is here, he is owing someone a deposit,\u201d Ramusi added.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"align-left\">As Shebeshxt indicated his preference for the bail hearing to proceed, the court took a brief recess to allow Ramusi to speak with him privately.
