A recent musical event transformed into a romantic occasion as American rapper Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Williams, proposed to his longtime partner and fellow artist, Mariah the Scientist<\/strong> (real name Mariah Amani Buckles).<\/p>\n

The artist kneels during his Home Town Hero Concert in Atlanta on Tuesday, December 16, presenting an engagement ring with the phrase \u201cWill You Marry Me\u201d illuminated behind him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The couple began their relationship in 2021 after collaborating on a track.<\/p>\n

However, their romance faced challenges when Williams was arrested in 2022 on charges related to gang activities and other serious offenses.<\/p>\n

Despite the difficulties, Buckles stood by him and frequently performed the song \u201cFree Thug\u201d at her concerts as a show of support.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

<spanFollowing Williams’ release from jail in October 2024, their relationship seemed to be on stable ground.<\/p>\n

However, a year later, private jail calls were leaked, exposing the rapper’s alleged infidelity, which surfaced while he was incarcerated.<\/p>\n

In November 2025, speculation regarding their breakup began to emerge, though neither party officially addressed the rumors.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The engagement generated a variety of responses from fans of the \u201cBurning Blue\u201d artist.<\/p>\n

One fan stated online: \u201cCongratulations to my favourite girl, so happy for her!\u201d<\/p>\n

Conversely, another fan expressed disappointment, stating: \u201cYoung Thug just proposed to Mariah the Scientist, and I am not happy.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Another user remarked: \u201cDude, why is everyone hating?? Congrats to Young Thug and Mariah.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with Power 105.1 FM, Buckles revealed her desire for marriage before starting a family.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to be married,\u201d she mentioned, expressing her wish for at least one child.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll start with that and see how I can manage,” she added, elaborating on her reasons for wanting marriage.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just want a commitment that doesn’t involve an obligation to a baby. I just want it to be out of love, not out of responsibility.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
